Language Café

Dear Language Lovers,

What could possibly be a better way to spend your Friday evening than meeting nice people, practising your favourite languages, and sharing some tasty international food? We present the Amsterdam Language Cafe – Potluck Edition, where you can practise ALL languages, bring your own favourite dish from your home country, and taste the specialities of other people’s countries.

The concept of the Amsterdam Language Cafe is simple: all nationalities are welcome and you can practise all the languages you would like to. Enter the Hallen on the entrance of the Tollensstraat (Bilderdijkkade) and it is immediately on your right. You will get a sticker with your name on it, you fill it in with the languages you speak and the languages you want to practise, and your language learning experience can begin. The night will be finished at around 10:30pm. Doors are open all evening, from 7:30pm onwards.

This time we have a special theme: Potluck. You can bring your own meal if you want to (between 7:00 and 8:00pm) and you can share it with others. At 8:00pm we open the buffet. Of course, it would be great if you could make something typical of your country. If you could post it in this group what you are planning to bring (starter, main dish, or dessert), then we can check if the balance among the dishes is OK. Please note that you cannot bring your own beverages since we host the night in a Cafe that sells drinks. Furthermore, we do not have an oven, so if you want it warm, then please bring it warm.

A final extra of this night is that Dutch Language School Koentact (www.koentact.nl) is going to raffle a free Dutch Language Course (value: 445 euro) and every visitor has a chance to win it.
