The Space Between
Choreography and performance: Graziana Veneziano and Giusy Fanaro
Rooted in our lived experience, this piece reflects on how capitalist and patriarchal systems extract emotional, physical, and creative labor from us, while offering little in terms of protection, care, or sustainability. We ask: “What happens when we stop showing gratitude and start showing truth?”
We explore these questions in a duet where presence matters more than “impression” or “product.” In a world that demands constant productivity and achievement—where a flawed and rigid system traps an entire generation between survival and meaning—we create space for vulnerability, softness, and presence, which in themselves become a form of protest.
MAP
Choreography and performance: Estrella Smith
Just as an adventurous traveler explores the world, we all journey through life. We each draw our own map based on our discoveries, one that offers direction for ourselves and can be understood by others. I want to build on this parallel. When we meet people, they show us their map. We recognize similarities and resonance, but also encounter differences. Seeing a different map can be confronting, because it calls your own map into question.
Boxed Identities
Choreography: Björn Bakker
Performance: Gaetano Tricomi and Matthea Lára Pedersen
Boxed Identities is a contemporary dance performance with two performers exploring and navigating their opposing identities. At its core lies the question: can someone truly exist without societal labels or constraints? Two buckets on stage symbolize the limiting “boxes” imposed by society. The performance invites the audience to reflect on the tension between individuality and conformity.
