We onderzoeken hoe levensomstandigheden onze identiteit vormen van kindertijd tot volwassenheid. Volg de reis van twee individuen die elkaar kruisen tijdens hun groei, en elkaar ontdekken door nieuwsgierigheid en speelsheid. Ze proberen trouw te blijven aan zichzelf, ondanks de druk van het leven, en vinden eenheid en verbondenheid in hun gedeelde kwetsbaarheid.”
Biografie:
Matilde Bonanni (zij/haar)
is een Italiaanse hedendaagse kunstenaar, danseres en choreografe, gevestigd in Nederland. Als professionele danseres heeft ze gewerkt met vooraanstaande internationale gezelschappen zoals Milano Contemporary Ballet, Atzewi Dance Company (Italië), Delattre Dance Company (Duitsland) en Kamea Dance Company (Israël). Ze heeft opgetreden in werken van gerenommeerde choreografen zoals Marco Goecke, Tamir Ginz, Johan Inger, Stephen Delattre, Filipe Portugal, Roberto Altamura en Alex Atzewi. Momenteel werkt Matilde als freelance kunstenaar en is medeoprichter van het “IN AND OUT-Collective”. Recentelijk heeft ze samengewerkt met The Movers-Amsterdam, ZID-Theater en choreografen zoals Matthew Pawlicki-Sinclair, Sasker Polman en Konstantin Koval.
Robert Cornejo (hij/hem)
is een Mexicaanse danskunstenaar die gespecialiseerd is in hedendaagse en commerciële stijlen. Hij heeft zijn opleiding gevolgd bij Arts Umbrella en Nuova Officina Della Danza onder leiding van toonaangevende choreografen. Momenteel is hij lid van Zimarel en werkt hij aan de productie Gounouj van Leo Lerus. Recentelijk trad hij op tijdens de openingsceremonie van de Olympische Spelen 2024 in Parijs. Hoogtepunten in zijn carrière zijn onder andere optredens in het Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse en Nationale Opera & Ballet, evenals deelname aan The Seasons Cannon. Hij heeft begeleiding ontvangen van Crystal Pite. Robert streeft ernaar een zinvolle bijdrage te leveren aan het creatieve landschap en wil inspireren en beïnvloeden door middel van innovatieve uitdrukkingen over meerdere disciplines heen.

Choreografie: Pulling Scales
Pulling Scales is een van de zeldzame werken van Henry Rodriguez uit zijn Physical Rootlessness-serie, waarin gedesoriënteerde lichamen binnen dystopische sociaal-politieke contexten worden onderzocht. Het bekritiseert patriarchale systemen, afgedwongen respect en vervormde communistische idealen. Geïnspireerd door de rijke culturele geschiedenis van Cuba, verkent Rodriguez thema’s als identiteit, repressie en migratie via surrealisme en hyperrealisme. Zijn werk weerspiegelt gefragmenteerde, opstandige lichamen en stelt vragen over individualisme en onderbewuste verlangens. Dit nieuwe stuk roept rauwe emoties op en nodigt uit tot diverse interpretaties.

Biografie:
Henry Rodríguez is een onafhankelijke choreograaf, docent en uitvoerend kunstenaar, geboren in Cuba. Hij studeerde af aan de Nationale Dansschool (BA Spaanse dansen, 2011) in Havana, Cuba, en aan de Dutch Ballet Academy (BA Docent Klassiek Ballet, 2024). Zijn creatieve werk weerspiegelt surrealistische en droomachtige choreografische landschappen door de traditionele uitdrukkingen van het menselijk lichaam in dans, elektronische muziek, installaties en performancekunst te verkennen en te doorbreken. Elk werk is een samensmelting van eclectische scenario’s waarin het menselijk lichaam zijn diepste mysteries onthult en vriendelijker, eerlijker en speelser wordt.

Follow the journey of two individuals who cross paths in their growth, discovering each other through curiosity and playfulness. They strive to remain true to themselves despite life’s pressures and find unity and connection in their shared vulnerability.
Biography:
Matilde Bonanni (she/her)
is an Italian contemporary artist, dancer, and choreographer based in the Netherlands. As a professional dancer, she has worked with prominent international companies such as Milano Contemporary Ballet, Atzewi Dance Company (Italy), Delattre Dance Company (Germany), and Kamea Dance Company (Israel), performing works by renowned choreographers including Marco Goecke, Tamir Ginz, Johan Inger, Stephen Delattre, Filipe Portugal, Roberto Altamura, and Alex Atzewi. Currently a freelance artist, Matilde co-founded the “IN AND OUT-Collective” and has recently collaborated with The Movers-Amsterdam, ZID-Theater, and choreographers Matthew Pawlicki-Sinclair, Sasker Polman, and Konstantin Koval.
Robert Cornejo (he/him)
is a Mexican dance artist specializing in contemporary and commercial styles. He trained at Arts Umbrella and Nuova Officina Della Danza with leading choreographers. Currently, he is a member of Zimarel, working on the production Gounouj by Leo Lerus and recently performed at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games’ Opening Ceremony. His highlights include performances at the Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse and the Nationale Opera en Ballet, as well as participating in The Seasons Cannon and receiving mentorship from Crystal Pite. Robert strives to contribute meaningfully to the creative landscape, seeking to inspire and influence through innovative expression across multiple disciplines.

Choreography: Pulling Scales
Pulling Scales is one of Henry Rodriguez’s rare works from his Physical Rootlessness series, which examines disoriented bodies within dystopian socio-political contexts. It critiques patriarchal systems, enforced respect, and distorted communist ideals. Drawing on Cuba’s rich cultural history, Rodriguez explores identity, repression, and migration through surrealism and hyperrealism. His work reflects fragmented, unruly bodies while questioning individualism and subconscious desires. This new piece evokes raw emotions and invites diverse interpretations.

Biography
Henry Rodríguez is an independent choreographer, educator and performing artist born in Cuba. He is a graduate from the National School of Dance (BA Spanish dances, 2011) in Havana, Cuba and the Dutch Ballet Academy (BA Teacher of Classical Ballet, 2024). His creative work reflects surreal and dreamlike choreographic landscapes by exploring and disrupting traditional expressions of the human body in the fields of dance, electronic music, installation and performance art. Each work is an amalgamation of eclectic scenarios where the human body unravels its deepest mysteries and it becomes kinder, honest and playful.
